Who Can Apply?
Anyone contributing to gender and sexuality studies—students, academics, researchers, experts, etc.—working on any field from a gender perspective, within a specific discipline or interdisciplinary framework, particularly in the context of Turkey, is welcome to submit a proposal. Those interested should apply by following the instructions and deadline provided on the conference website.

Can I submit more than one paper or a co-authored paper?
Yes, individuals may submit more than one paper or workshop proposal to the conference. However, if both submissions by the same person are accepted, the Evaluation Committee will consider this when creating the program. A single paper or workshop can also be submitted by more than one person as co-authors. In cases with a large number of co-authors, only a limited number of presenters will be expected to present the work.

Is there a fee to attend the conference?
No, attendance at the conference is free of charge. However, attendees must register in advance. The venue and registration details will be announced closer to the conference date. Participation without registration will not be possible.

What is the deadline for submitting a proposal?
The deadline to submit abstracts is August 4, 2025. Accepted applicants will be notified by October 6, 2025. In case of any changes, updates will be announced via the website and social media channels.

In which languages are abstracts accepted?
Abstracts are accepted in either Turkish or English, depending on the intended presentation language. However, the title should be submitted in both languages.

I submitted my abstract in English. Can I present in Turkish?
Yes, you may present in a different language from the one used in your abstract submission. Please inform the organizing committee of your intended presentation language before the program is finalized.

Are workshop proposals accepted?
Yes, a limited number of workshop proposals related to the conference theme will be accepted. If you would like to organize a workshop for conference participants, please fill out the designated form.

Will travel or accommodation be covered for presenters coming from outside the city or from abroad?
Unfortunately, travel costs for international participants cannot be covered. However, students residing outside of Istanbul who are traveling from within Turkey may be eligible for limited financial support for travel and accommodation, depending on the budget. Those in need should send an email to the conference address explaining their situation. Additionally, accessibility needs will be reviewed and addressed by the Organizing Committee.

How are abstract and workshop proposals evaluated?
Submissions must be anonymous. Each submission will be evaluated anonymously by at least two members of a Scientific Committee composed of scholars from various disciplines and universities in Turkey and abroad. The Organizing Committee will then use these evaluations to group the accepted presentations into cohesive panels. Session titles and numbers will depend on the proposals received that year. Once the program is finalized, all applicants will be informed of the outcome and their participation will be confirmed. If someone who was accepted can no longer attend, a waitlisted applicant will be invited. Anyone who confirms participation but needs to make changes to their presentation must inform the Organizing Committee before the event.

What will the conference program include?
The conference will be held in Istanbul on December 6–7, 2025. The program will include parallel sessions, opening and closing talks, award ceremonies, and workshops. A detailed program will be published on the website at a later date.

Will simultaneous translation be provided?
Simultaneous translation will be available for selected sessions. It will not be provided for all sessions, and the program will indicate which sessions offer this service.

Will there be any publication resulting from the conference?
